BookASlot vs. Acuity Scheduling
Acuity Scheduling (part of Squarespace) is an established US tool with a very broad feature set. BookASlot is leaner, cheaper to start a team on, and hosted in Germany – but Acuity can already charge deposits and no-show fees today.

Where Acuity is honestly the better choice
No tool fits every use case. These points favor Acuity:
- –If you specifically need a partial deposit or an automatic no-show charge on a card on file, Acuity offers this on every plan – BookASlot currently only supports full prepayment (Mollie) or in-person payment (SumUp).
- –For larger operations with many locations or up to 36 calendars, Acuity's Premium plan has significantly more capacity than BookASlot currently offers.
- –If HIPAA compliance matters to you (e.g. health-adjacent providers with US clients), only Acuity offers it.
- –Acuity's integration depth (Zoom, Google Meet, Squarespace websites, multiple payment providers) is broader than BookASlot's.
BookASlot is a good fit if...
...you run a local service business in the EU, want German hosting without per-seat pricing, and don't (yet) need to collect deposits at booking.
Acuity is a better fit if...
...you need deposits or card-on-file no-show protection today, manage many locations, or prefer a US-hosted tool with a broad integration ecosystem.
